As the vacant land adjoining Middle Ridge Road was developed, the open ditches along the roadway experienced higher storm water flows which caused erosion to occur and was even causing damage to the adjacent pavement. Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. recommended enclosing the ditches with a storm sewer and catch basin as a solution to the problem.
Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. prepared plans for the new storm sewer which ranged in size from 12 inch to 36 inch diameter, included 16 catch basins, and had a total length of 1800 feet. Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. also performed the necessary field surveys, performed construction layout staking, and provided construction engineering services during construction. The project was completed by City of Amherst Department of Utilities crews in 1998.
